THE POLAR BEAR CHALLENGE
For those of you who know me, you know that we have one polar bear obsessed son in our house and one day we hope that he will get to see one of these guys in the wild!
But for that to happen, we need to consider what changes we can make to help protect this cuddly guys environment. As global temperatures rise, the amount of sea ice available for bears is continually reducing and polar bears require sea ice for efficient hunting of their primary prey, seals.
One easy way you can reduce your own carbon emissions and that you can start immediately is through the way you heat and cool your homes.
You may be surprised to read that heating and cooling accounts for roughly half the energy consumption in an average home?
So as the cooler weather sets in, and we head to the thermostat to take the chill out of the air consider if you can set it 1’C lower.
Making a conscious decision to set it 1’C lower can absolutely help reduce carbon emissions that will have a positive effect on this little guys natural habitat!
So if you’re up for making a change, join me and others in THE POLAR BEAR CHALLENGE and collectively we can make a difference.
And for those of you who are wondering what the optimal room temperature during the day is, it is around 20’C and at night 17’C!
That is it from me today, I hope you have a calm and restful day, one that brings you joy. One free from anxiety and as Positivity and Happiness are Contagious… Start your own Happiness ripple today!
Good luck and stay warm
