This Shepherd’s Pie receipe is a one of those win win recipes. It is perfect if you need to get a good dose of red meat into your system, whilst also looking for a way to hide lots of hidden vegetables. It can also be made in the slow cooker or on the stove if you are short of time. I opt to grate the vegetables so they are well hidden and the kids can’t easily pick them out, but this recipe works just as well if the vegetables are chopped finely. Or so my family tells me. Also our family has even been known to devour this recipe in one hit so if you also like left overs this one may not deliver.
OPTIONAL
Traditional shepherd’s pie is made with a traditional potato base but as we try and balance the nutrients our kids receive we use a combo of white and sweet potato so they get the goodness afforded to each.
